Anti-Racism Initiative at FPC

On October 11, 2020 the Session of FPC adopted the following statement from the PC(U.S.A.):

As Covington First Presbyterian Church we affirm that:
  • “Racism is the opposite of what God intends for humanity. It is the rejection of the other, which is contrary to the Word of God incarnate in Jesus Christ."
  • “Racism is a lie about our fellow human beings, for it says that some are less than others.”
  • “We will stand against, speak against, and work against racism whenever it is expressed in the world around us, in our homes, in our workplaces, in our neighborhoods, and in the church.”
Entering the Conversation: Naming Our Story of Race
The Anti-Racism Team and Christian Education Team of First Presbyterian Church is presenting opportunities for us as the Body of Christ to study, consider, and name our role in systemic racism.

Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming studies in 2021!
