Stewardship 2021
You are SOMEBODY! You are KEY!

Picture

September 21, 2021

Dear Covington First Presbyterian Church Family,

Thank you for standing with our church during these challenging times. During this stewardship season we want you to know how important you are to our church, where everybody is Somebody. All of you are the keys to our past, present and future. After church on September 26, you will receive a reminder how you are the KEY. While we recognize we are called to be stewards with an “Attitude of Gratitude” throughout the year, we hope to emphasize the importance of giving your gifts, time and tithes to our church over the next few weeks. We will kick off our stewardship conversation September 26 with a sermon series entitled Roadblocks to Gratitude: Nostalgia, Worry, Entitlement, Greed, Disappointment. You will hear from church members how your giving has benefited the church. On Reformation Sunday, October 31, we will celebrate our Covenant to God and our Church. We recognize our call as disciples of Jesus Christ yesterday, today and tomorrow! Come and be Somebody and be a key part of the celebration! A covenant is a promise we make to God and one another. It is a good faith agreement of how we will participate in God’s kingdom here on earth. We will make many covenants as people of God: Baptismal vows, Elder vows, Wedding vows, and much more! What will your covenant be for this year at Covington First Presbyterian? We request that you return your Covenant card between now and Reformation Sunday, October 31. Please respond with an Attitude of Gratitude. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing thast there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10

Year-Round Stewardship Ministry:
An Attitude of Gratitude

“Everyone should give whatever they have decided in their heart.
They shouldn’t give with hesitation or because of pressure. God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7 (CEB)

What is Stewardship?
What gifts or talents do you have to offer?
What impact do your dollars have?
What happens when we open our doors?
